The bank’s senior management was faced a critical decision regarding their automobile dealer floor plan business, a multi-billion dollar portfolio. Sound Shore Financial was retained to assess this lending division, their policies, procedures, the quality of portfolio, and monitoring operations and provide their recommendations. Additionally, Sound Shore’s thorough assessment included the on-site audits of automobile dealerships.
Upon completing an exhaustive assessment and analysis, SSF concluded and recommended that the bank consider a sale of the entire division to another institution. Through the assistance of Sound Shore, RBS Citizens ultimately sold their entire dealer floor plan business and exited this entire line of business.
Sound Shore’s assessment provided the necessary analysis to help RBS Citizens make an informed decision and get back to focusing on their core lending activities. It is through these core activities that they have continued to enjoy much success.
Specialty Lending Head Joseph Nemia stated:
“Sound Shore provided an in depth analysis and recommendations that were exactly what we needed to make important strategic decisions about this line of business.”
